• Whole new point of view when you open your windows and see the world around you from your vantage point on top of your vehicle or trailer. Remember that tree fort when we were kids? Multiply that by a cool factor of 10 and you're starting to get the picture.
• Rocks, roots, mud, etc. are no longer an issue. Superior protection from the elements compared to a standard tent. As long as your vehicle is level, the ground can be uneven and you won't even know.
• Safe from snakes, spiders, scorpions, and other creatures that could normally come right in if your tent was on the ground.

Maybe you just want to take your car and escape the city for a few days. From the beach to the most remote locations and everywhere in between, we're here to help.

HITents provides a 2-year manufacturer's warranty on our roof top tents. This covers any defects in material or manufacturing. HITents will repair or replace, at our discretion, any items that prove to be defective at no cost to you. This does not extend to normal wear and tear, cosmetic blemishes sustained during use, or damage caused by improper use, improper cleaning, or improper storage. If the whole tent needs to be returned for repair, replacement, or inspection, the costs and liability associated with that are the responsibility of the customer.

We ship anywhere in the continental United States, Alaska, and Hawaii. Shipping cost is calculated at checkout based on your location. We do not currently ship internationally.

• Always let your tent dry fully in the sun before long-term storage. It's okay to pack it wet if you're only driving home or to the next camping spot, but once you're done, make sure it's dry before leaving it closed up for an extended period — otherwise mold and mildew will form, risking permanent damage and voiding your warranty.
• Use a silicone spray on all your zippers (beeswax works well too). If you get excessive dirt or debris in a zipper, clean it well before use — failure to do so could damage the zipper or shorten its service life.
• If you have a mold or mildew issue, clean the tent with a mild detergent (such as an all-purpose cleaner or a diluted simple-green mixture in a gallon of warm water), then rinse off all detergent with clean water before letting it fully dry and storing it.
• Over time, with use and cleaning, the waterproofing may start to break down. This is easily fixed with a silicone-based fabric water repellent available at most camping supply or outdoor retail stores.
• Wash your mattress and cover from time to time and hang to air dry. Check between the mattress and the tent floor — this is an area where condensation can form depending on the climate.
• To fully prepare your new tent for all-weather use, it's recommended to set it up and lightly spray it with water so the threads and fabric can swell and seat ("seasoning" your tent), then let it fully dry before putting it away. This can be repeated as many times as desired.

Yes! We periodically have demo and used models available. They are sold as-is and without warranty, for pickup only — they cannot be shipped. Contact us for prices and available models.

Our tents will mount to any rack system rated for over 130 lbs — whether it's a factory rack with crossbars, aftermarket bars from Thule or Yakima, or an aftermarket rack from a company like Gobi Racks or Bajaracks. Mounting is easy with fully adjustable stainless steel bolts and mounting brackets.
