We are a family owned and operated company.

Firmly rooted in outdoor life. Whether fishing remote waters, winding down a narrow desert trail on epic overlanding adventures, or rock crawling in the Sierras, you will find us there. We are a driven and passionate group about what we do, and we strive to bring that to you. We manufacture our products to exacting specifications in small batch runs so that we are able to give you the absolute best every time.

Hinterland Industries was born from over 20 years of innovation and design — a custom shop turning out everything from custom off-road trailers to highly customized Land Cruisers ready to tackle the most technical trails. We personally run the Rubicon trail in one of our custom 80 Series Cruisers and use and develop our products in real world testing and use.

We now bring you Hinterland Industries Tents (HIT®). We have designed and manufactured what we feel is one of the finest roof top tents you can buy — real expedition grade equipment. The material and components are of the highest quality and durability: true 400g waterproof canvas for every tent body, 1" aluminum poles with aluminum alloy joints at all locations, 304 stainless steel hinges on the floor, and TIG-welded 304 stainless mounting brackets for the sliding aluminum ladder. Thick mattresses for an unmatchable good night's sleep.
